Present "glove boxes" are typified by the T-M vacuum products chamber. The central chamber can be of steel, with a transparent viewing panel in front, a pair of sleeve-length rubber gloves to allow the operator to work "in the box" and purged airlocks for entering and removing products being assembled therein. The central chamber is maintained pressurized at about 1-1/2 inches H(2)0 pressure, the atmosphere being dry nitrogen. Chamber pressure is maintained by exhausting the chamber through an "oil bubbler" with an additional mechanical poppet valve to relieve over pressure.
