The system illustrated in the figure is an automated ferroresonant power supply tester which applies designated loads to the power supply output voltages under program control and automatically makes all of the pertinent measurements. Within approximately one minute the system measures line voltage, line current, line power, resonant voltage, resonant current, output average DC voltage, output maximum and minimum instantaneous voltages, ripple voltage and output current. The system software computes the power efficiency, full and half load power factors, prints out all of the above data, and summarizes the worst case readings. The tester may be situated next to an environmental chamber so that measurements can be taken subject to actual ambient temperatures.
