Sample And Hold Switching Threshold Generator Using AC Coupled Resistive Divider

An AC-coupled resistive divider is provided at the input of a sample-and-hold circuit to determine the ideal switching threshold for detecting the logic state of an input. This circuit, after sampling one input transition (rise or fall), will hold a voltage halfway between the two extremes of the transition for use as a reference to compare with the input. This reference will be valid regardless of variations in input levels.
