Interface Analysis of Two Locally Attached Systems Utilizing a Microprocessor

Systems A and B (Fig. 1) are locally connected through a microprocessor 1 in System A. The interface cable and associated logic between them is tested and analyzed automatically upon command from microprocessor 1. This is accomplished by some additional hardware 2 to add data wrap capability at System B, shown more fully in Fig. 2. Two other requirements are microcode in System A to wrap predetermined data patterns upon command, and a system program in System A to analyze failing results.
