Chute Mix Control

The magnetic brush developer of Fig. 1 includes a toner concentration sensing chute 10, which receives carrier/toner mix from brush roll 12 after the photoconductor's latent image has been developed at nip 13. A toner concentration control system, of the light reflectance type described in U. S. Patent 3,756,192, optically monitors the color of this developer mix as it flows past window 14, and causes additional toner to be added in accordance with the sensed light reflected from this mix.
