Abstract

A heating system suitable for use in a UHV (ultra high voltage) system is shown in the drawing. A water-cooled-coil 10 is silver soldered to an RF feed through 12. A rotatable sample holder 14 holds the sample in region 16. When RF energy is applied to coil 10, a tungsten sample, for example, may be heated to 2500 Degrees K in about 10 seconds with about 600 watts of forward power.
