Digital Pump Driver Circuit

In a continuous jet-type ink jet printing system, an ink pump is needed to precisely control the ink pressure to the nozzle. In current designs, ink pumps are driven with a solenoid that is controlled by a rather complex electronic circuit. Due to mechanical constraints the electronic pump driver circuit must have a fixed duty cycle and frequency. Also, the peak current supplied by the circuit must be controlled by a digital word sent from the system processor.
