A buffering arrangement is provided which facilitates a workstation operator to continue working without apparent delay for buffer update. The buffer consists of three buffer areas, where the information being displayed is taken from the center buffer area. When the information to be displayed will cross a buffer area boundary, such as during scrolling, the information will already be available for display. Additionally, an interrupt is requested whenever a buffer area boundary is crossed. The interrupt is serviced well before the current buffer area from which the information is being displayed is exhausted.
