A laser programmable diffused resistor is disclosed wherein an overlying metal layer makes contact with the diffusion at several locations along its length. Subsequently, a laser beam may be used to selectively cut the metal layer at some point along its length to render only a portion of the diffusion effective for carrying current, thus achieving the desired resistance.
