This article discloses in Fig. 1 a novel AND circuit 1 comprising a pair of three-junction damped interferometers A and B, shunted by load RL, which has better gain and speed than known AND circuits. The principle of operation of circuit 1 is shown in Fig. 2. A control current is applied to device A or B via control lines 2. Assuming current is applied to device A, this device switches along a load line essentially defined by resistor R(s), and current is transferred from device A into device B. Device A, in general, switches slowly, since I(G) is rather low compared to its I(mo). However, device B switches quite fast upon the application of a signal to its control line 2, since the total gate current in this device is now high.
