In a cut-sheet supply copier, it is necessary to pick a single sheet of coated or plain paper, from a stack of such sheets, and to transport this sheet to an imaging or transfer station, for each copy to be made of an original document. As this sheet is transported from the stack to this station, which is normally positioned a distance from the stack, it is desirable to side-edge register the sheet so as to achieve known sheet positioning at the downstream station.
