Gathering AET Information for Nets
Disclosed is
a method for gathering AET (All Events
Trace) information for nets using a hardware simulation accelerator.
A trace
command is used to cause the hardware accelerator to
collect and pack data during a simulation and send the data back to
the host. Each net that needs to be
traced will be included in a
trace command (there can be four nets per command). At the end of
each cycle of simulation all trace commands will be executed (if AET
ON is set), and every net that appears in a trace command will have
its data logged to the AET file.
This is a
very simple way to let the simulation accelerator
hardware do the AET net data gathering.
This method is much faster
than the usual software data-gathering techniques.
