Switch cover design for rail yard switches.

This text was extracted from a Microsoft Word document.
This is the abbreviated version, containing approximately 100% of the total text.

The attached photos show a cover to protect railway switches.  The switch may be easily installed and removed.  There is minimum ice build up under the switch point.  Snow removal from turnouts is quick with a ballast regulator.  Material is cut to fit around the switch plates and anchors sitting on the ties below the rails and switch point.  The switch rod is completely covered.  The track components are easily inspected.  The cover may be made from any durable material such as treated plywood or plastic plywood.  The switch rod may be covered with plastic or rubber such as a heavy rubber belting (e.g. used conveyor belting).  The covered switch is easy to throw.
