Speed Load Device for Actuators

      Disclosed is a method for loading heads onto a media disk.

      As shown in Fig. 1, this embodiment shows a linear actuator 1
which is traversed in and out of the disk 2 from the outer diameter
to inner diameter where it starts testing, then back to outer
diameter.  The speed loader 3 is used as a ramp which is held
stationery between the top and bottom head arm assembly 4.  As the
assembly is traversed it automatically loads and unloads the heads 5
to the disk surface at a rate which is determined by the scanner
access speed.

      As shown in Fig. 2, the speed loader 3) is made up of the
adjustment post 4 which controls the height so that is is centered
between the head arm assemblies; the metal spring loader 5 which does
the actual loading and unloading; and the plastic ramps 6 which cause
the actuation of the speed loader as the actuator moves towards and
away from the disk.
