Visual Multi-user Calendar Views

Provided is a technique for displaying calendar information for
multiple users in order to overcome deficiencies with conventional
approaches.

Users are provided with conventional functionality and user
interface techniques.  In addition, users are provided with the
following extensions:
Visualization of calendar information for one or more people on
monthly views.  The information visualization takes the form of
displaying "busy bars" for multiple people within the calendar view,
where each busy bar is vertical and represents one or more events for
a person and is interactive to allow displaying detailed information
for each person.
The calendar information for multiple people is displayed
visually.
Any displayed information is treated as an object that can be
directly manipulated or interacted with via selection and menus.

Benefits to the end user include new functionality and
flexibility, a compact for presenting calendars for multiple people,
improved usability, reduced worksteps in viewing busy schedules, and
reduced errors.
