Abstract

A color electro-optic display has a pixel comprising a first and second electro-optic elements and a pixel electrode for applying an electric field to these elements. The first element can switch between first and second optical states on application thereto of an electric field greater than a first threshold. The second element can switch between third and fourth optical states on application of an electric field greater than a second threshold, this second threshold being greater than the first threshold.
