Disclosed is a method for defining an optimal shape for an antipad in a multilayer printed circuit board (PCB). Antipad shapes created by this method can provide larger clearance than circular or rectangular antipads while simultaneously maintaining some minimum width of copper in the paths along which power or return currents can flow.
