A method is developed that enables modal windows to be temporarily disabled with their state preserved; and operate in a fenced mode wherein any application state transition is recorded. Later when the window is re-enabled and acted upon, the action is applied recursively starting from the current application state and applied backwards until either the action is successful or the state when the modal window was disabled is reached.
