Abstract

The frequency compression technology is used for the conversion of audio frequencies which are inaudible for the user of a hearing aid to a lower or higher frequency range which is audible for the user. There are indications that hearing impaired subjects might need a period of four weeks to fully get used to the different sound of a frequency compression system.
