Sending SACCH messages over PACCH to DTM MS

DTM: Dual Transfer Mode. MS in DTM mode can do Circuit Speech and Packet data transfer simultaneously. PACCH: Packet Associate Control Channel SACCH: Slow Associate Control Channel When there is DL SACCH messages need to be sent to a specific MS, - BSS checks the MS is DTM capable and MS is in DTM mode - BSS builds SACCH messages within RLC/MAC control block - BSS sends SACCH messages on PACCH/D to the DTM MS * For System Information messages, BSS may decide to send them on PACCH when there is change in the SI message. - MS receives these messages on PACCH and decode them, then use existing mechanism to continue follow up procedures For UL SACCH messages - For a DTM capable MS, it can use PACCH/U to send following messages originally sent on SACCH when it is on DTM mode * Extended Measurement Report * Measurement Report * Enhanced Measurement Report - BSS receives these messages in RLC/MAC control block - BSS decode these messages and use existing mechanism to continue follow up procedures.
