The existing Auto Discovery protocols only provide a mechanism to discover a particular service on the network. In a multi reader environment where readers are part of an Ethernet network, once a reader has been discovered, there is no easy way of identifying or locating a particular reader. The current mechanism of locating a reader after auto discovery is to look for serial number or MAC address of the device and then map it to the serial number/MAC on the discovered reader. With the use of audio visual indicators, one can easily identify a reader of interest after auto discovery.
