Study shows that during a traditional face-to-face conversation, as much as 90% of the total communication in relaying a given message is through non verbal communication. This is a powerful and understated concept of communication.

With the popularity of electronic communication, the non-verbal or non-typed communication has the same power. Such examples are font, text color, icons, images, to any other visual in a communication that influences a certain environment which influences the reader in understanding the non-verbal aspect of the message.

With the plurality of email systems and their templates that may force some restrictions on how the message is displayed to the reader, such non-verbal aspect could be compromised and distorted, rendering the concept of non-verbal communication through email useless or incorrect. After all, our collaborative technologies aims to mimic the face-to-face one as much as allowable.

The problem faced when sending mails is the recipient may not receive the message content as intended. The message may have changed in appearance depending on network configuration and recipient and sender preferences - for example the formatting and presentation may be distorted. e.g. A table in an e-mail may end up wider than intended or the font or some other formatting may change. It would be useful to ensure that what the sender sees is replicated as much as possible, by what the recipient sees. This article describes a method to improve intended message duplication through the use of image comparison. At the senders side the message is copied as an image and sent.

The main steps are:
- The sender composes the message
- The local client or the server creates an image of the message
- The message is either saved on the server or contained within the message itself
- The normal message along with the image is transferred
- Either at the recipients client, or the recipient's server, the image is subsequently used to compare with what the recipient sees rendered on the screen
- If there is a significant difference between the native message and the image then:
- The image may be optionally shown to the recipient
