Tags are a useful means of labeling/ identifying the content/ context inside a web page. The visually impaired user browsing the page, has to browse the entire page, to look for search for the content/ context that he is looking for. Also, the title of the page doesn’t necessarily dictate the contents inside the page.

There is no existing technique in such a scenario. Though, keywords written in technical papers etc, can be considered as a general way of assistance to the content provided in the paper, yet they don't assist in navigation inside the content.

A person can search in a web page using the search 'find' feature provided. The problem with such a system is: the same keyword could be used in multiple places. Hence the user has to listen to the entire the portions where such words occur.

(i) The visually impaired users, find it cumbersome and time consuming to navigate an unknown web page.
(ii) Also, title of the page is, in most cases, not so helpful in getting the contents/ context required by the user. In this scenario, tags provide a helpful means to identify the content/ context of the page.

Use tags to intelligently map the portions of a page, with the corresponding tags. This can be used by applying latent semantic techniques to get the most relevant portion (paragraph) corresponding to a tag. Once the mapping is defined, read out the tags to the visually impaired user and take him to the tag of his choice.

No existing solution. Hence it is a new system altogether.

The visually impaired user comes to a page, and that page is tagged. In order to understand what the page is all about: there are two options:
(i) The user checks the title and metadata in the page.
(ii) The user searches on the page for some keywords.

Option (i) is not always accurate. Option (ii) is very time consuming, and there are chances that although the page doesn't have the exact words that he is looking for, it may have a context or similar word.
