Concept Search - What can I type?
For a concept search, you can enter phrases, sentences, or full paragraphs in English. For example, copy and paste the abstract of a patent application or paragraphs from an article.
Concept search eliminates the need for complex Boolean syntax to inform retrieval. Our Semantic Gist engine uses advanced cognitive semantic analysis to extract the meaning of data. This reduces the chances of missing valuable information, that may result from traditional keyword searching.

Safety Valve Slamming Impact Absorber
The invention conceives a
feature to reduce the impact of flapper onto seat from the slamming close of a
subsurface safety valve.
Slamming close of flapper
onto its seat is the one critical working condition for a subsurface safety
valve. To simply make the flapper stronger means a heavier part, which would
put a higher requirement for the torque spring to help it close. Patent
application 12/468,103 adopts magnetic buttons to cushion the impact. As showed
in the figure 1 and 2 in the attachment, this invention uses a torque spring
energized short beam, which is attached to the flapper seat and sticks out. The
flapper will be slowed down when it hits the beam and the beam rotates to let
the flapper close. The beam itself can be a leaf spring. In the third picture,
the beam/leaf spring feature can be installed on the backside of the flapper
instead of the on the seat.
Energized by torque spring, or the beam itself can be a
