Sliding scale for privacy

The management of privacy of personal information on social networks or for any other purposes should be simplified to reduce confusion around what is shared, and with whom this information is shared.

We propose a sliding scale for privacy, ranging from “very open” to “very private”. This scale may be applied to various types of information, e.g. photos, posts, ect. Furthermore, groups of people may be created, where said scale may be applied on a group basis. Such groups may be friends, colleagues, family, public, or any other possible group. Said groups may be created automatically or manually by the user.
