Automated Emergency Message

When calling an emergency number, such as 911, the caller may be in a situation where s/he is unable to speak. By combining information stored on the calling device (e.g. a phone, a mobile phone, a smartphone, a computer, ect), and information retrieved from the calling device’s location finding subsystem, a smart message may be compiled and conveyed to the emergency operator using text-to-speech software.

If the calling device detects a period of silence after the emergency operator has picked up the line, the calling device may automatically start the message. The message may contain information regarding the calling device’s owner, such as name, home address, and telephone number. The message may also additionally contain information regarding the calling device’s current location. The calling device may be a mobile device, and therefore, may utilize a location finding subsystem, such as a Global Positioning System (GPS), or other known subsystems.

The combined message could be something like: “Hi, this is John Smith, I can’t speak at the moment. My home address is: 11 Cool Street, Cool Town, USA. I am currently at Taco Bell’s on 5th Avenue, NYC. Please help.

This message may be partially pre-recorded, and partially generated using text-to-speech software. Particularly, the current location sentence should be generated using text-to-speech software.
