A method and system is disclosed for performing client-side dynamic query splitting based on date, when a result limit is returned by a query. An initial query is performed against a repository. If the query returns the maximum number of results (the limit), then the query is split in half and processed as two queries. The query splitting process is executed recursively until the number of results returned is less than the limit indicating that there are no more results.
