Selective Social Analytics

A system is disclosed herein that utilizes a dynamic social analytics engine to automate a process. The disclosed system allows users to share a profile with a social engine

which is then selectively used for analysis in the context of a geographical area (e.g., a building) in an appropriate event (i.e. when the user is in the building). Instead of using an entire social network to analyze a situation or use a predefined set of rules for analysis, the disclosed system utilizes the presence/location of a user and performs selective/situational analysis. The system makes accurate decisions based on the analysis.

In a work environment, uncomfortable room temperatures can cause employees' performance levels drop. It is also common to notice that a room is cooled or heated outside the comfort levels of the people currently occupying the room. In an exemplary embodiment, the disclosed system considers atmospheric conditions and residents' preferences and establishes an energy efficient and comfortable room temperature.

In another exemplary embodiment of the disclosed system, smart buildings may help identify handicapped individuals who may need assistance to evacuate the buildings in an emergency. For example, a user entering the building can share a profile (e.g., via Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) with the system. The system relays the information to the server that controls the building settings. In the event of an emergency, the system accesses the user's location and profile and is able to direct emergency workers to the person and request the resources needed safely evacuate the person.
