A method and system is disclosed for serving more contextually relevant advertisements (ads) to a user. The method and system scans one or more user-uploaded images for presence of one or more brands based on the user’s consent for scanning. Thereafter, if one or more brands are detected, the method and system queries an ad inventory in real-time for providing ads of the one or more brands or ads of brands similar to the one or more brands.
