Disclosed is a system and method for providing a smart recommendation for a diet plan.

Fitness is becoming an increasing popular topic everywhere these days. It is important to stay on track to eliminate unpleasant visits to the doctor's offices. It is recommended to exercise at least 3 times per week for 20 minutes or longer and to eat a healthy balanced diet. However, it is also hard to eat a balanced diet and maintain physical activity a few times a week given people's business schedule or other factors. There are many fitness sites out there to get users to achieve their goals.

Existing technology allows a user to log what they eat and how much they exercise. This information may be used to compare/rank diet plans across all users and use fitness history data to recommend a diet plan to the user where the plans have worked on others who share similar background/exercise time as the current user.

The recommended diet plan leverages social information about users who share similar background which includes culture, taste, with in consideration of similar commitment

time to exercise. This approach provides a best potential recommendation. Eating healthy diet maintains the user's good healthy condition, thus increases work productivity, happiness, and satisfaction.
