Figure 1 (see below): Figure 1 is a schematic diagram of a transition housing of a clean grain elevator of an agricultural harvester.
Description: As shown in the attached illustrations and described below, a yield measurement system for an agricultural harvester that improves yield monitoring accuracy, including mass, test weight, and spatial integrity by measuring the grain properties at the base of the clean grain elevator, is disclosed.
Figure 1 illustrates a system for measuring grain yield comprising a grain inlet opening to a grain measurement volume wherein the inlet has a diameter less than diameters of the majority of the remaining said volume. Various sensors utilized for this system include the following: a sensing means to measure a grain level in the volume in proximity to the inlet and generate a grain level signal, grain moisture sensing means and a grain weight sensing means located near the bottom of the grain sensing volume. Desired data outputs include elevator volume, elevator weight, puddle volume and puddle weight.
