Main Technical Problem 

Currently,  turbomachinery trains on a LNG module are subjected during operation to several routine  maintenance  inspections.  The  inspections  are  performed  by  an  operator  (weekly,  monthly,  every  six  month, etc…) on train packages and modules. Routine activities are performed by visual checks, in order  to detect possible leakages, damages, improper operation, accumulation of dirt, corrosion and other kind  of deviation like noise increase, vibration, etc… In an innovative scenario of unmanned plant operations,  there  is  the  need  to  replace  all  these  inspections  performed  by  operators  with  an  automatic  system  completely  autonomous  or  controlled  remotely.  In  some  cases  fixed  cameras  have  been  installed  inside/outside turbomachinery package for monitoring only. 

Current disadvantages: 

1. High OPEX costs 

2. Presence of operators is not compatible with unmanned operation 

3. Operators perform checks in a hazardous environment 

4. Human beings presence with related safety risk
