A method of producing a magnetically detectable material for a holding member for an animal product comprises preparing a material mixture comprising particles of a non-toxic magnetic mineral and particles of a polymeric material, and heating the material mixture to a temperature for plasticizing the polymeric material. The material is molded into the holding member. The material mixture may be prepared by first preparing a mineral-colorant mixture comprising the particles of the magnetic mineral and a colorant, and then preparing the material mixture comprising the mineral-colorant mixture and the particles of the polymeric material. Alternatively, the material mixture is prepared by first preparing a polymer-colorant mixture comprising the particles of the polymeric material and a colorant, and then preparing the material mixture comprising the polymer-colorant mixture and the particles of the magnetic mineral.

FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The invention relates to the field of magnetically detectable products, and more specifically to a method for producing magnetically detectable material which can be used to manufacture magnetically detectable products from the magnetically detectable material. The products, in particular holding members such as tubes, pipes, strips, nets or rings, or an assembly of two or more of these elements, are used in the processing of animal entrails.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
In the field of holding members for handling animal products, such as natural casings for the production of sausages, but not limited thereto, a concern exists that in a handling (such as
storage or transport) or production process involving the holding member, unintentionally a part or piece is separated from the original holding member and is included in the animal product for human consumption. For example, a cause for the part or piece becoming separated or being broken from the original holding member may be a material failure, e.g. by material fatigue, or an overload on the holding member or part thereof.
If the separated part is included in the animal product, a food safety issue and/or health issue may arise when consuming the animal product. To avoid these issues, before the animal products are put onto the market, they are checked for a presence of a possibly separated part of a holding member. If this check reveals that indeed a part is present in an animal
or absorbed in an animal product, can be detected automatically by an appropriate detection apparatus. Such detection apparatus is available on the market under reference 'food metal detector'.
DE 202013103721 U1 discloses holding elements, such as stoppers and separators, made
product, the product can be discharged and appropriate further measures can be taken.
