System and method to increase success conversion of a telemarketing call in run time through dynamic call credit incentive

Problem Statement A huge population of mobile phone users are from the low and middle income group  and whom the Tele marketers target. While making calls to these customers, the tele marketers are seldom aware about the phone plan or the location(roaming) of the user. Due to this there are a good chance that a customer would get either get irritated or refuse to accept a call from unknown numbers which results in the marketing call not going through especially when the customer is in “Roaming”.

This will result into dissatisfaction towards the tele-marketing company and a lost marketing opportunity.

Existing Approaches Currently there are no ways by which a subscriber can know whether s/he is making a call to someone in home/roam network or if the call being made is local, STD or ISD. However, there are following ways to identify from where the number belongs to:

Ø Number series –Number series assigned to a specific circle/market can be used to identify the circle of called person.

Ø Country/STD code – Country code or STD code assigned to countries or geographical areas can be used to identify the country/circle of called person.

Problems with Existing Approaches There are following problems that arise due to such an approach as listed below:

Ø Number series – due to inter-circle and inter-operator MNP (Mobile Number

Portability) number series are no longer confined to a particular circle or operator. Ø Country/STD code: STD codes are applicable only for landlines. Country code

does not help if a subscriber is roaming. The solution proposed is beneficial mainly for the tele-marketing like companies. When a tele-marketer makes a call to a customer and finds through the proposed solution that he/she is will be charged (since he may be in “Roaming”, or does not have an appropriate call plan), the tele marketer instead of a prospective rejection of the call by the customer is able to convert it to a successful call based on the incentive given in terms of call credit. This will entice the customer to receive the calls. This works very well especially where there are good offers running in a place where the customer visits. The customer has a very easy option to find if the call is coming from a tele-marketer through a “green” call mechanism where the customer is hinted that the call will be paid by the tele-marketer and additionally a credit. “Green” is the colour displayed on the receiver’s phone for a call coming from a tele-marketer indicating that the call is sponsored.

Key Feature : · A method to notify the receiver that the call is “green” when receiving the call

during roaming, which means the customer is either paid for the call through incentive (credit talk time) or it will be a Free call.

· A method to credit “Call time” as incentive to prospective customers in run time in order to increase success rate of a...
