Reflecks™ Dimensions Brilliant Bronze GB90D is an effect pigment composed of iron oxide, titanium dioxide, and silicon dioxide coated onto a borosilicate substrate. The pigment delivers a metallic bronze color with high chromaticity. The average particle size of 66 μm results in a sparkly appearance. The pigment is ideal in applications where an intense metallic bronze color and sparkle are desired. This product, and others that may be developed in the future, typically consist of titanium oxide / iron oxide and silicon dioxide and borosilicate platelets in varying ratios. They could potentially be used in a broad range of cosmetic and personal care applications, especially in color cosmetics. Attached are a number of formulations demonstrating the use of the Reflecks™ Dimensions Brilliant Bronze GB90D. I. In main vessel heat Phase A ingredients to 60°C with continuous mixing.
II. In a side vessel premix Phase B into Phase A maintaining temperature to 60°C.
III. In a side vessel premix Phase C and heat to 50°C. Add to Phase AB under homogenization.
IV. Sweep mix and reduce heat to 50°C. Add Phase D into Phase ABC
V. Package into appropriate containers
