Techniques for generating a single color-coded CT scan showing data from 101 images, each at different energy X-ray levels, is provided. Specifically, the user specifies ranges of the X-ray spectrum to be mapped and displayed in the human light spectrum. Humans have proteins in the eye that allow the person to see red, green, and blue spectrum light, and therefore, selections are made to define a range of X-ray spectrum to be viewed as red, another range of X-ray spectrum to be viewed as green, and yet another range to be viewed as blue. The resulting image shows uniform tissue as a uniform color, and a non-uniform tissue with a variety of colors according to the X-ray spectrum that captured the non-uniform tissue.
