Background QR code (short for Quick Response Code) is the trademark for a type of matrix
barcode. QR code system became popular outside the automotive industry due to its fast readability and greater storage capacity compared to standard UPC barcode. It is widely used in lots of applications, including product tracking, item identification, time tracking, document management, and general marketing. Since QR-code contains more information, it can provide strong identification capability for product classification and tracking. Different from the usage of barcode for distinguish one category from other categories, QR-code can identify one item from other items in the same or different categories, which bring tremendous demand on the printing. Undoubtedly, printing a lot of different QR-code will bring a large number of defects. Benefits from the robustness, the defects in a QR-code may not affect the readability, however, it will degrade the products’ appearance and business values. For example, Apple Corporation cannot tolerate any printing defects on their producets. Besides, the
printing quality is important for the OEM, If DPPM (defect parts per million)increase
