System and Method to Assess Users Skills on a Software or Hardware Device
To understand/capture a person’s skill and knowledge with software or a device users and organizations rely on certifications, training, and assessment tests. Often, organizing those certifications and tests require time, resources, and efforts, yet fail to capture the true proficiency of a person on software or a device. In addition, sometimes some very specific skill set on software/a device is needed for particular tasks or projects. In that situation, knowing the user’s depth and breadth of skill sets on software/devices can help to organize appropriate training/certification courses.
A system is needed that enables software or a device to track a user’s usage of that tool and provide the user’s proficiency rating on demand.
The proposed solution is a system and method that tracks a user’s usage of various functions of a tool along with the frequency of usage to produce, on demand, an overall proficiency rating of the user for a particular software/device. The associated method enables software/a device to provide a proficiency rating of a user based on that user’s usage portfolio.
The solution can also provide a method to track, collect, and store a user’s activity data (i.e., usage of various functions and frequency of usage) for software/a device. In addition, it analyzes collected information to provide breadth, depth, and overall proficiency ratings of any users of software/a device.
This solution applies to software assessment, capital machineries assessment, user’s skills assessment, training/skills curriculum/syllabus, product usage metrics, etc.
System’s process steps:
1. Collect all the functions and sub-functions of a software/device 2. Create a table in which the:
A. x-axis tracks and stores the names of users B. y-axis tracks and stores the names of all the functions/sub-functions
3. For each user...
