Method and System for Providing an Optimized and Efficient Mechanism for Engaging Reporters/Journalists Disclosed is a method and system for providing optimized and efficient mechanisms for engaging with one or more reporters/journalist for ensuring appropriate coverage for a paper/article. Further, the method and system also predicts whether a paper/article is going to help bring more readers to a journal. Figure 1 illustrates method steps for identifying top ranked reporters and top ranked journals that can be helpful in providing appropriate coverage to an article/paper.
Figure 1 As illustrated in Figure 1, an article/paper that needs to be covered by reporters/journalists is analyzed by using natural language processing techniques. The system also scans the internet to identify historical coverage of papers related to similar topics. Based on this, the system identifies one or more reporters/journalists of such papers. The system extracts information on these reporter/journalists to understand the kind of topics these reporters/journalists have been covering over past few years. Thereafter, the system employs a machine learning algorithm to compute a ranking score for each of these reporters/journalists. A ranking score indicates a willingness of a reporter/journalist to work on the paper.
