Abstract

The present invention proposes a method for reusing reflected radio frequency (RF) power in transmit chain of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) system. The reusing of reflected radio frequency (RF) power is achieved by Radio frequency- Direct current (RF-DC) recycling circuit. The reflected power at isolation port is imported to the rectifier rather than consuming at dummy load. The RF signal is then rectified to DC voltage by rectifier composed of diodes. This energy is stored in low voltage ePool module to provide the working power for the low voltage components, like low noise pre-amplifier in OM and receiver coil. The reflected power is reused, so that the high-power dummy load as well as cold plate can be eliminated thereby reducing the complexity and cost of the system.
