Abstract

IP vendors are protecting their breakthrough designs by encryption, hereby making it difficult to debug any failures when such designs are integrated into SoCs. The failures could arise from faulty (a)Integration (b) IP (c) Interoperability (d)Stimulus. Since the IP is encrypted, lack of visibility into design could mean weeks of co-debug b/w IP and SoC, denting aggressive time-to-market.The invention provides a method for reproduction of failures observed on SoC with encrypted IP, at the vendor’s end without the need to share SoC design or test environment. It works effectively on encrypted designs with (i) Little or no unencrypted observability (ii) No supplied IP bench (iii) Different set of simulation tools at Vendor end (iv) Different verification methodology at Vendor end.
